Support for the next step in your hauora career journey
If you work in primary or community health in Rotorua and are planning to study, your pathway may be eligible for financial support. Limited funding from Rotorua Lakes Comprehensive Primary and Community Care Team (CPCT) is available to assist local kaimahi hauora (health employees) employed in community and primary health care settings on specific paths. In 2026 the priority of the remaining 2024/25 funding is for Aged Care related clinical study. This CPCT WFD Fund will close once fully dispersed.
The intention of this funding is to strengthen hauora supports for local whānau by helping kaimahi to study towards the clinical and community health roles most needed for Rotorua. This includes kaimahi brand new to study, or those who want to further their existing hauora education.
To be eligible to apply, there are basic criteria all applicants must first meet:
- Be kaimahi from the primary or community health workforce (employed by PHO, GP Practices, Hauora Māori and Pacific community providers, including aged care)
- Have a current practising licence (if one is required for your profession)
- Be an NZ citizen or hold NZ permanent resident status
- Meet the student entry criteria required by the education or training provider
- Have not already received funding or scholarship support for the intended course
- Employer supports the application for funding
- In 2026 the priority of the remaining 2024/25 funding is for Aged Care related clinical study. This CPCT WFD Fund will close once fully dispersed.
This opportunity is made available through the Rotorua Lakes Comprehensive Primary and Community Care Team (CPCT),enabled by funding from Te Whatu Ora Health NZ. This is available until funding ends.
Applications are considered fortnightly by the CPCT Design Rōpū in Rotorua. Rotorua Lakes Comprehensive Primary and Community Care Team consists of; Manaaki Ora, Te Runanga o Ngati Pikiao, Rotorua Area Primary Health Service (RAPHS), Korowai Aroha and Western Heights Health Centre.
Rotorua’s CPCT Workforce Development Fund can contribute to:
- Course fees for health related NZQA L1-6
- Course fees for health related postgraduate study
- Course must be located in New Zealand, either on campus or online
- Aged Care related clinical study is priority until the fund is dispersed
